Problem
accūrō Solutions is a medical bill review company based in Pennsylvania. In 2018 their now-CRO, Lisa Gran, was using a workers’ comp solution that was taking up to seven days to turn around repricing. To make matters worse, savings were lackluster and client service was underwhelming. So Lisa was referred to Reliant as a potential alternative.
Solution
Reliant’s leadership took a hands-on approach to introducing Lisa to our unique Fair Market Pricing methodology and onboarding her as a client. As we built trust and a personal connection, she started out by using Reliant as an out-of-network option for workers’ comp bills that weren’t covered by PPOs. Placing Reliant behind their broad-based specialty networks let her gain confidence in what Reliant could do, without committing to a huge change all at once. Understandably, she also wanted to see proof that Reliant’s significantly better savings wouldn’t cause too much noise.
Results
Reliant helped accūrō be more proactive and efficient in getting better savings and reduced appeals. Instead of a seven-day turnaround that involved multiple networks, Reliant was immediately able to deliver the majority of Lisa’s bills within 24 hours, and with better savings than her previous solutions had achieved. Over the course of a year, she began turning off the lower-performing PPOs, moving Reliant up the stack right behind their direct network for consistent savings.
accūrō’s savings off billed amount was 63.1% in 2023, and it keeps improving as Reliant’s system learns from each claim. accūrō continues to gain new accounts by offering their clients access to Reliant’s unique capabilities. And Reliant’s nationwide coverage allowed accūrō to quickly expand to national prominence and into new markets.
